Summit Place Mall Is Dead

Here are twelve photos I took during my recent trip to Michigan. This mall holds a few good memories for me, even going back to the early 1970’s when I was very young. Trips there with my mother and probably with all four of us. Of course the buildings had been remodeled since those days but look at it now. I learned that all, if not most of the businesses that were here had long ago moved house to a much newer, much nicer mall that is in a much better place, which it is.

It’s now located along the busy Interstate 75 in Auburn Hills, Michigan. Both mall locations are well within my good old stomping grounds of so many years ago in both Pontiac, Waterford and Auburn Hills. Sadly, Waterford has really degraded from what it was during my High School years there but such is life right? The world is in a perpetual state of change… But there’s hope for the mall!

The Talk Space Web Site

I have seen this commercial website on my telly the last many days. Having been through years of counseling myself, I sincerely must insist that should you need sincere therapy under any circumstances, please do visit your fully authorised therapist.

After having been through three divorces and currently feeling better both mentally and financially positive than ever, I can assure any person in this very difficult and turbulent time of your life that it is indeed very possible to recover your happy and productive life using only your own powerful decision making capabilities if you believe in Jesus Christ as Saviour.

Please, don’t blow $125 per month or so to inflate the bank account of one who you know absolutely nill about. No apologies here, should you fall victim to this stupid scam, I sincerely hope that you will find a solid Christian solution for your life’s issues.  We ALL have issues! Life has NO guarantees other than troubles will indeed find us all in due time.

( I apologize for this pompous post, don’t mean to be a jerk.)

A Peaceful Bay

Another photo from my iPhone seven from last week in Michigan at my daughter’s wedding reception. I say it’s a pretty spectacular photo considering it was rendered by a cell phone! It’s very lightly processed, just slightly sharpened and the colours just very lightly enhanced on my MacBook. I still really with I’d brought my Nikon D3300 though!! Click the photo, looks better large.

The Boat’s Wake

Looking aft on my sister’s boat this past week. It was the day of my daughter’s delayed wedding reception day and what a fantastic day it was! I grew up on this lake and it was so wonderful to be there, as though the energy and good vibes of those wonderful days as a child there were all returning to my soul, giving me a sense of well being, happiness and renewed energy.

The Traditional Cake-In-The-Face!

You’ve got to see my daughter get cake faced! She got her husband good but doesn’t want to be on the receiving end! This was such a joy for me to see and record too, I miss her and my son so much. I’ve got to figure out how to send it to her via email as stupid Google allows only 25mb or so for maximum file size. Really Google? Seems mighty cheesy to me!

Hi I’m Pepper!

Hi All! Well, the trip is winding down now, I’m currently at Flint Bishop International Airport awaiting my ride to Chicago Midas then on him to Las Vegas.  It’ll be a long day again but such is travel. What a great time everyone had at my daughters wedding reception yesterday!

Really too many fun tales to tell but I have some awesome photos and video for you sometime tomorrow when I get the 200+ photos and many videos I shot with the iPhone all sorted out.

One video in particular is such fun, my daughters husband was NOT expecting her to shovel a bunch of cake in his face. Body did she get him! Then, he chased her down literally and finally got her back.

Such fun! The food was awesome, plenty of adult beverages were had, the wedding cake was scrumptious and the boat rides on the lake were incredibly relaxing and I have some beautiful sunset photos too.

I’ll have all of these ready for you tomorrow some time. Meanwhile, I snapped a sweet photo of dads dog Pepper this morning. Poor girl wanted out of the dog run so bad but it’s not my place to let the dogs out, sorry Pepper, as she does her usual wining. Heart strings are tugged….

The Choice

Hey all I hope you have a great weekend wherever you are. I’ve been in my home state of Michigan since Thursday and have been spending a good lot of time driving around the two counties which comprise my old stomping grounds as some call it. It’s really been an eye opening experience.

I have tons of photos to share with you upon getting home to Las Vegas which will be tomorrow but by Monday I hope to have processed at least a few of the hundreds of photos I’ve taken with my iPhone. No Nikon on this trip, didn’t want to risk losing that nice camera somehow or other.

The iPhone has done a pretty good job, I have taken all the photos in HDR and the Vivid mode. Along with the different sets I’ll upload I will have lots of commentary to go along with the photos since this is my heartland where I grew up. So many memories both good and bad! I hope you’ll stop by to read them and see the photos. I’m about to go to my daughter’s delayed wedding reception shortly.

The main reason I am here actually so possibly some photos from that too, not sure. Happy weekend, see you here soon friends. 👍🏻❤️ By the way, I’ve decided that I really don’t want to move back to my home state. Speaking honestly, it’s cold, dark and dank here. And dirty too.

I have become totally acclimated to hot weather, addicted to sunshine and beautifully groomed city streets and homes. Michigan is a bit like an almost untamed wilderness, it’s very rough and rustic looking. And damn cold. I’m in shorts, flip flops and a tee, my usual attire and it’s all I brought up here too, no tennies. Can’t hardly wait to get home to my hot and sunny Las Vegas Valley!

The Hand Washing Station

My father works on his antique autos frequently which is why he installed this nice hand washing station a few years ago. The mailbox is used as storage for paper towel and soap to keep it out of the rains. Two photo versions! I hope you all had a dandy weekend, today I’m heading for a new parking spot close to the airport today to try shooting photos from a different angle. Thanks, Google Earth for showing me this new place I hadn’t noticed before.
