Following along with the previous post, here are twenty very random photos from my quickie trip today. I originally intended to go back to Hoover Dam but just didn’t feel like it once in the area. I’ve been there how many times. I expect it still looks the same!
These photos are via the Nikon D3300 and the 70-300mm lens. I seem to use the Prime lens and the 70-300 lens most of the time, the kit lens is OK but it’s not as fast to focus as the Prime lens is. I like a big zoom, but it obviously doesn’t work so well for close-in photos. Twenty photos in this set! Visit the Boulder City website here. Information on Hoover Dam here.
I did some exploration around Boulder City today and found this cool large steel bike in the center of a roundabout on the way uphill to Bootleg Canyon. This place is a bikers mecca it seems with biking trails going every which way. The site offered a nice view southward toward Needles. I like Boulder City, plenty of open spaces, much less traffic.
Looking westward from Charleston Boulevard this morning. I rarely travel to the east side of Las Vegas Valley except when going to Boulder City to visit the Hoover Dam which is where I’m going tomorrow. Again. I never tire of visiting there any more than visiting Red Rock Canyon.
I used the Nikkor 70-300mm lens for these photos, the lens has a decent amount of zoom. In one or two of the photos, you can see almost the entire length of Charleston Boulevard and Red Rock Casino and Resort.
