Here are six photos from this morning’s random ride around Las Vegas, these aircraft are photographed just seconds after lifting off the runway. I’m frankly surprised that none of the photos show the landing gear still down. I really love the sound of jet engines at full thrust! Such raw power!
Located at the intersection of Las Vegas Boulevard and Sunset Road the Town Square Mall offers an outdoor shopping experience just like Downtown Summerlin does except the buildings are more robust in colour and design. I spent only a shot bit of time here today as I was heading for the airport for some photos with the Nikon. All of these photos were taken with my iPhone seven and I don’t mind saying that I believe they are likely the best photos the device has taken to date.
This poor pedestrian has been cooked and shriveled by the sun, a common thing for signs here… Ouch!
In Las Vegas you can see almost anything walking or driving around! I wonder how much money this woman is making?
I stopped by McCarran International briefly today for a few shots but found that I got the best aircraft photos further west from the parking lot of a huge mall at the corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Sunset Road, those photos are coming up later today. This is my Yaesu FT-7900 VHF/UHF transceiver. It also receives multiple bands of radio services including the aircraft band in the AM mode.
The frequency shown on the display here is for Las Vegas Departure.
I’ve never used this service before but the truck sure looks nice! In Michigan, the DMV is called the Secretary Of State. I’ve no idea how many other states use the term DMV or SOS but Smog Checks seem to be a big business in Las Vegas. My little car cost me $500 to register each year, plus the cost of the smog test. It’s not cheap to own a car or truck in Nevada.
I’ve no idea when I snapped this image, it was at least four years ago back in Michigan. I hope you have a happy weekend wherever you are today. Me? I’ll probably take a drive around the beautiful valley!
