The Battle Is Real

Yeah, it sure is. Several months ago I suddenly acquired a continual battle with high blood pressure. I wrote about this briefly yesterday. How a supplement I was taking had been spiking my BP. After my walk this morning I took my BP for a second time today which showed it had dropped significantly down to 114/78. A several point decrease just from a twenty minute walk. Bottom line, I need exercise and am going to begin using the facilities in my complex.

Since stepping down from my job two months or so ago, I planned on not becoming a couch potato. I am heading in that direction and it’s not good for anyone’s health. Due to that supplement I mentioned, my BP numbers yesterday were all triple digits both systolic and diastolic. A dangerous way to live. Am I a bit frightened? yes. I should be. So wish me luck won’t you! Another topic, I’m getting to the point at which I am considering closing posts here.

Since my move to the Business Plan with WordPress, I just don’t get the traffic on this blog anymore. The Tech folks at WordPress have done all they can to fix some glitches that occurred after the transfer. But my site traffic should be as high as it was before and I am becoming very discouraged. I still very much enjoy visiting my old friends here around WP, but miss the interaction that this site once had with so many of you.

Being honest with me, my content is lacking. I really don’t know how to improve on this situation either. So, I’m nearing the point where I might cease operations on this blog. I find more activity and interaction on Instagram and Twitter… Time to head to that mini gym in my complex clubhouse. Just a couple snaps for you today.

  1. Our answer to the fitness problem (and the galloping BP) was to get another dog. After the last dog we said we would have not more. But, now, I walk at least 10Km per day – usually in a big circle. Was also reading that having a dog around also helps (not sure how) to keep you BP down. My experience of the dog is that my BP goes up every time she chews a pair of my glasses! I thought about yoga. Have never done it but these old bones are starting to creak. Something needs to be done! R

  2. Get out there and move John!! I started jogging/walking a minimum of 2 miles everyday and it has made a big difference – in terms of weight loss and toning up. I am sorry about the wordpress problems- why should the business plan change the traffic to the site? It is upsetting to see less people, but there are many who enjoy your photos and what you write about (me!) so I would vote for you to stay! 🙂

  3. I am sorry to hear about your troubles, both with blood pressure levels and with wordpress. Most importantly is to take measures with the BP, but I hope you get the inspiration to continue blogging, and eventually get the traffic back to the blog. All the best!
