OK, no such word I suppose? But you’ll have to trust me in saying that my latest attempt at chili lusciousness is just so good! I had no intention of making chili today when I hit the grocery store for my usual food choices. The Kettle cooked Pepper and Salt chips are still in the car or I’d have destroyed that bag by now! Oh potato chips how I love you…
All I did was grab some random ingredients off the shelf, and grabbed the wrong beans too, no Kidney beans which I later went back to the store for and then grabbed yet another can of different beans to toss into the very random mix. The chili has been slow cooking on the high setting until five PM local at which time was turned down to low. Simmering is a beautiful thing!
I also purchased some new seasonings needed for other things I cook but did purchase a different brand of chili powder which has made the difference for this new batch. Good Lord, at this rate I just might out-cook Chef Ramsey haha! But seriously, I’ve always has a serious soft spot for chili. I must have had hundreds of cups/bowls over the decades in Michigan while snowmobiling over the decades.
Chili: America’s national dish?
Oh – replace the letter Y with an I, you dork!! English is your native tongue, correct?? 😜😉
It’s below 32F tonightt, such a very cold temperature tonight yet we as locals fully understand that inside a week’s time, our daily temperatures will return to our 50’s and such. A beautiful thing among our local weather… God bless our valley and our very mild weather!! 🐺
