I Don’t Need That…

Thinning things out. It’s been several weeks now since the big D. Recently I’ve noted that I have several items moved here when I left the house we rented that I really don’t need now. A hard floor cleaner, a thirty year old stereo system. A small carpet cleaning device and a few other items, all are now gone, donated by me to those I hope really need them. One more item – my old tool chest. It’s from the 1990’s, still perfectly usable.

I am parring things down for a couple reasons – I am a Minimalist, even in terms of the website you are viewing just now. Also, when I do manage to get back home to Michigan, I’ll have far less to move. The TV and furniture among many other items will be donated to charity and perhaps others here in my complex. Other smaller items can be shipped home. I really like the way this has worked out, I’ve been off work for two days now, one more day to go.

Been putting the time to good use by cleaning the apartment up nice, got my little car all spiffed up inside and out, purchased some badly needed groceries. I plan to drive up Mount Charleston tomorrow but I may not go. Just taking it one moment at a time, I may decide to stay in couch potato mode. I feel that my life is coming back into sync, the future seems good. I really love being single again after what now seems like a very stale marriage.

Since recently purchasing a few new toys I’ve missed so much in the form of a high dollar police scanner and a shiny new shortwave receiver, I’ve found myself drifting a bit regarding this site and my Instagram site. I haven’t been much interested in getting new photos, possibly because I am considering a shiny new camera next month, depending on how the finances pan out, every month is different. We’ll see. Time for a cold one, see ya soon.

    1. Clutter makes me a nutter. One thing a previous wife and I had in common is that and the Minimalist life style. I finished a two day giveaway of several items I really didn’t need. Apartment looks much better all the way around.

  1. I’m so glad you feel that way about your present life! 🙂

And I know what it feels like when we find something else that we like to do … there just isn’t enough time, or interest, for this. I was never big on Instagram, but the blog much more so. When there’s something else that’s fun … playing with my fountain pens or so … then I don’t pay as much attention to the blog.It comes and goes, and that’s alright too.

    1. Thank you Rebekah! I don’t want to let either suffer but it seems it might be cyclic as you say. I want to work on the antenna system for the shortwave receiver tomorrow, some technical stuff that I really love working on. Being single again has been so good for me…..
