Getting Back Into It

Since my divorce was final several weeks ago, I’ve found myself wanting to get back into my old hobbies which never seemed to fit into the marriage. I’m a licensed Amateur Radio guy and also love monitoring the ShortWave Radio bands. Recently, I’ve spent some serious dough on higher quality portable radios for both ShortWave and the VHF/UHF frequency bands. I’m excited to be getting back into my hobbies!

As I said, this hobby never really mixed well with the marriage as she had no interest in them, causing me to feel uncomfortable continuing the hobby. That sucks badly. It was a sacrifice which I didn’t want to make! At this point in my life, it seems clear I am simply not marriage material. I’m very quickly acclimating back to my single lifestyle and it feels really good. Like going home after being away so long. I am embracing this new life like a rebirth!

These new headphones will make possible much deeper listening into weak ShortWave Radio signals as they arrive at my location from basically anyplace on planet Earth. Yet another investment into my decades-old love for all things radio frequency! Deeper listening? By this I mean it’s much easier to hear extremely weak radio signals within the confined space inside the leather-covered headset, which excludes outside, ambient noises..

  1. Terrific! I’m happy for you.

My husband and I have totally different interests, but they mix in a very nice way, thanks to that we both love the Internet and web related stuff. He reads about the old Romans and Latin language while I deal with my fountain pens and handwriting.

I’m very thankful for this … we both are … that we’re ‘allowed’ to deal with what we love.
