Changing Colors

I’ve been looking at the colors used on this website more closely for a few days now. Considerations. My old website which some of you will remember was intended to be a Photography website. Life forces us to change as time progresses. I took the old site down off the web for personal considerations. Divorce can do bad things to your mind. I’m surviving just fine but there are certain things that must be changed, regardless.

It may sound stupid but I’d never sleep on the same bed an ex wife and I slept upon.

It’s just the way my mind works and I’ve zero doubt I am the only man who thinks like this, or a woman. OK, I’m getting way off track here! Back to what I meant to say. Since the focus of my new web home isn’t purely photo based, I felt a change in the site’s colors was/is in order. Something not so bloody dark and dank. Kind of depressing really? Long story short, I did some research on the effects of website colors and design on your visitors.

I found several websites that cater to specific color palettes for specific web designs.

That was geared more toward business websites but whatever. Certain colors are perceived by the human brain as friendly, angry and other in between. Blue, with all of it’s beautiful hues throughout was the clear choice. Blue is also my most favorite color too. Always has been. That said, I hope you’ll find the new look of my meager site more friendly. ???

  1. It looks really nice … good choice of colour combination! Isn’t it nice also … not to have just photos?! Photos are nice, but it’s fun to write a little too — makes for more conversation.

Interesting about the bed. Made me think back, about what I’ve done in these situations. Didn’t apply to me, as I have just left everything every time … walked out. So, I haven’t had that bed situation and I’m doubtful whether I would have slept in it.

I’m glad you’re healing well. I agree with Christy’s grandmother; the older we get, the more losses we face. In my case, I think it started rather early, though.

    1. Thank you Christy!! Hope I spelled your name correctly. I am glad we “met” on IG, I very much relate to so many things you talk about. My mother passed away in 2012 and to this day if I see an older woman who resembles her, I just lose it. I understand. God bless you my friend. X

      1. ?????? Yes you did spell it correctly… And I’m sorry for your loss. It seems like my grandmother is right – the older we get the more losses we face. Then one day it’s our turn. That’s what she used to say. I can remember a time when I used to roll my eyes at that but this last year I can hear her from the afterlife whispering, “I told you so!”
