Changing Colors

I’ve been looking at the colors used on this website more closely for a few days now. Considerations. My old website which some of you will remember was intended to be a Photography website. Life forces us to change as time progresses. I took the old site down off the web for personal considerations. Divorce can do bad things to your mind. I’m surviving just fine but there are certain things that must be changed, regardless.

It may sound stupid but I’d never sleep on the same bed an ex wife and I slept upon.

It’s just the way my mind works and I’ve zero doubt I am the only man who thinks like this, or a woman. OK, I’m getting way off track here! Back to what I meant to say. Since the focus of my new web home isn’t purely photo based, I felt a change in the site’s colors was/is in order. Something not so bloody dark and dank. Kind of depressing really? Long story short, I did some research on the effects of website colors and design on your visitors.

I found several websites that cater to specific color palettes for specific web designs.

That was geared more toward business websites but whatever. Certain colors are perceived by the human brain as friendly, angry and other in between. Blue, with all of it’s beautiful hues throughout was the clear choice. Blue is also my most favorite color too. Always has been. That said, I hope you’ll find the new look of my meager site more friendly. ???

Pine Knob Music Theater

Otherwise known today as DTE Energy Music Theater. In my day it was called Pine Knob Music Theater. DTE Energy (the local electric company) bought the theater/ski lodge many years ago, locals who grew up with the old name never seemed to adopt the new name, myself included.

I have some sweet memories from the 1970’s skiing on the little hills. Good friends, great times together. It was a great place to party actually. My best buddy and I would drive up there and ski when there were snow storms blowing through, best skiing ever, and almost nobody around. I had a four wheel drive truck so it was easy for us to get up there.

Anyway, my daughter and her fiancee’ went to PKMT last night to see the Dave Matthews Band I think she said. She sent me these quickie photos from her Android device. Her man is a bit older as you can see. She was really worried about this when they met three years ago. I once again reassured her the other day about this.

What matters most to me as her father is that he treat my daughter with deep respect and caring. Always be good to her. I have met him. He is a stand-up man. A good man and I am certain he treats her right and loves her very much. She was grateful to hear this from her father. She is an awesome woman, a Christian and a sweet soul.
